Dr. Daivis Švirinas is the head of the law practice and the initiator of its foundation. He began his legal career in 1996 in one of the largest law firms in Lithuania at that time – the American McDermott, Will & Emery – in Vilnius.
The legal work experience, gained there formed the basis for his subsequent independent legal activities and the organisation of the practice's work.
Dr. Švirinas studied at Vilnius University's Faculty of Law and in 1999 continued his doctoral studies at the Law University of Lithuania (now – Mykolas Romeris University). During this time he published several treatises on competition law, wrote his doctoral dissertation The Regulation of Vertical Agreements in Competition Law and published monograph under the analogous title.
A degree in Economics from Vilnius University means Dr. Švirinas can combine his economic and legal skills in order to propose innovative solutions that can be effectively applied in practice.
Since 1999 Dr. Švirinas has been involved in teaching at Mykolas Romeris University by lecturing and organising practical classes on competition law for the students of the University. Since 2006 Dr. Daivis Švirinas has held docent position at Mykolas Romeris University.
Continued teaching and research activities ensure that Dr. Švirinas is kept up-to-date with the developments in jurisprudence and legal practice, allowing him to provide his clients with the best possible solutions.
